13 Fun Things to Do in Dallas You Never Knew Existed!

There’s this one time I thought I’d impress my out-of-town friends by taking them to a “haunted” house in Dallas. You know, the kind where they have actors jumping out at you left and right?

Well, let’s just say my buddy, let’s call him “Brave Bob,” wasn’t so brave after all. He screamed like a banshee and clung to my arm like a koala on a eucalyptus tree!

Needless to say, that’s one friendship-tested, trust-forged experience we won’t soon forget!

Now, if y’all are ready for some real Dallas fun, buckle up because I’ve got 13 secrets to share that’ll make your time here truly unforgettable. From hidden gems to local hotspots, consider this your backstage pass to a FUN-tastic time in the Big D.

It’s like skydiving, but indoors. Plus, it’s all safe and controlled, so you can focus on having a good time without the nerves.

Dallas Zoo has all sorts of critters, from tigers to turtles, sprawled out across a whopping 106 acres. It’s a real treat, especially if you’re tagging along with the kids.

Pro tip: Make sure to arrive early to catch those animals at their liveliest. Once that Texas sun begins to shine, they tend to tucker out and snooze away.

You don’t need to worry about anything here either! Just kick back, relax, and let the pilot take the reins (or strings, in this case).

Seriously, Texas Wind Riders is the go-to spot for this kind of adrenaline rush. They offer lessons that range from 20 to 50 minutes in duration, all in comfy two-seater PPC vehicles.

For a blast of colors and creativity, I can’t recommend Rainbow Vomit enough. It’s not your typical stuffy art gallery; it’s like stepping into a psychedelic dreamland, with local and international artists showcasing their wildest creations.

And get this: It’s not just about staring at paintings on walls. Nope, here, you’re part of the art!

Imagine yourself riding a life-sized unicorn named Gerrard, chilling in the Cloud Room, or floating in a hot-air balloon. It’s like being in a fantasy world brought to life.

They’ve got everything under one roof: arcade games galore, mini-golf, laser tag that’s off the charts, go-karts for some adrenaline-pumping action, batting cages to test your swing, and bumper boats for a splashy good time.

They’ve also got spots to just kick back and munch on some grub when you’ve worn yourself out.

And this place is not just for birthday bashes and school events (although they totally nail those too). Even adults can get in on the action with corporate outings and team-building activities.

11. Get creative at Crayola Experience.

But it’s not just about fun and games; it’s pretty educational too. Kids get to dive into the world of color-making and even learn a thing or two about science and technology while they’re at it.

The Museum of Illusion is like stepping into a mind-bending wonderland where your eyes might play tricks on you but in the most fun way possible.

You’ll see optical illusions that’ll make you question reality, play with depth perception, and even mess with your brain a bit!

Now, fair warning, the museum isn’t huge, so don’t plan your entire day around it. Think of it more as a cool pit stop during your Dallas adventures.

13. Test your skills in an exciting escape game at The Escape Game.
