5 Best Math Tutors in Dallas That Local Parents Wholeheartedly Swear By
A friend hired a pricey math tutor for her child, and she thought it was money well spent.
Nope—her child’s abysmal math grades remained the same. She learned the hard way that just because a math tutor charges more doesn’t guarantee results.
After switching to a more affordable math tutor who had a different teaching style, her daughter actually became the Captain of the Math Club! Okay, not really, but her daughter managed to pass all her math exams for the year—pretty cool, huh?
So, for those who need an extra boost when it comes to those pesky numbers, here are the best math tutors in Dallas.

Pacioretty Academics was founded by Christine Pacioretty, who believes in taking a holistic approach to learning.
We’re impressed with her instructors, who have received comprehensive training in Singapore Math. This teaching method helps students understand math via problem-solving, number sense, and understanding, rather than memorization.
They also provide weekly progress reports to track measurable improvements—perfect for parents who want to see real results.
As for tutoring formats, they offer group instruction, which is ideal for students who like to socialize while learning. But if you want a more tailored approach, private instruction is offered as well.
Before committing, schedule a free initial consultation. This is a no-pressure call where you can discuss your child’s specific needs and learning goals.

Founded in the 1990s, Mathnasium was created to fill a gap in math education. Their goal is to teach kids how to think mathematically to succeed in school and life.
To help achieve their goal, they created The Mathnasium Method, an approach that addresses learning gaps, reinforces skills, and introduces new concepts step by step.
They first assess each student’s strengths and weaknesses, and then they create a customized learning plan.
3-Month Intro Courses are offered for younger students who want to learn addition & subtraction or multiplication & division. For high schoolers preparing for college, SAT and ACT prep are available, too.
And to keep math skills sharp over the summer, they host a Summer Math Program, using fun math activities.
The only catch is they’re not the cheapest option in Dallas.
Her math grades have significantly improved
“My daughter has attended Mathnasium very regularly over the last year and her math grades have significantly improved. Her confidence around math as improved and her mental math has improved as well. She never fights us on going and loves the prizes that she can “buy” with her cards there. We are pleased with the results and don’t plan on leaving Mathnasium anytime soon.” — Lindsay Hazard, Google Review
My kids’ growth in math has exceeded expectations
“Ms. Sarah is simply wonderful. She cares about each child’s learning and makes it fun for them. She has so much patience and is a wonderful educator. My kids also have done her summer camps, which run seamlessly. My kids’ growth in math has exceeded any expectations I had. Brought his grade in math from a C to an A
“Star Tutoring has been fantastic for my son. They brought his grade in math from a C to an A in a short time. We also had great summaries via text of the work and progress after each session. As a parent, I found these invaluable (teenage boys aren’t that informative!). I also thought Star’s communication and appointment reminders top notch. I highly recommend Star Tutoring if you have a child that struggled in a subject. They have great tutors and a fantastic system.” — Desiree, Google Review

Sylvan Learning is a locally owned center that wants to keep kids engaged, not overwhelmed.
We like that they tailor their math lessons to fit each student’s needs—no cookie-cutter curricula here. You can find help with specific topics (e.g. algebra, geometry, fractions, etc.), or go with a program based on grade level.
Test prep is another plus—perfect for students gearing up for state or college entrance exams. And they even offer free learning resources, like worksheets and activities.
As a bonus, both in-person and online tutoring are available.
Budget-conscious parents should also keep an eye out for their online seasonal promos, where they can score up to 30% off tutoring services.
We’re just a bit concerned with what we’ve heard from former students. They found some tutors here to be less than motivational, or even a bit rude.
Within just a few weeks, I noticed a difference
“Have been bringing my 2nd grade daughter since January and within just a few weeks I noticed a difference. My daughter was not shy in preschool but in kinder she needed glasses due to severe lazy eye and got behind ever since. Then pandemic happened in first grade just as she was catching up. She needed help building her confidence back up, with math skills, writing and comprehension and Sylvan has been an important part of that process. Worth every penny.” — Veteran Vegan Reyna, Google Review
