The 8 Must-Visit Candy Stores in Dallas That Bring Out Your Inner Kid

Picture me walking into a candy store in Dallas, just planning to “look around.” Five minutes later, I’m holding a bag bigger than my dignity, and the cashier is asking if I need a forklift to get it to my car.

I came in as an adult, but somewhere between the nostalgia-inducing scent of chocolate and the sheer panic of deciding between sour belts and peanut butter cups, I blacked out and turned into a six-year-old with a credit card.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to relive that childhood sugar rush without your parents telling you, “That’s enough, pick one,” I’ve got you covered.

Our city is home to some ridiculously fun candy stores that will absolutely make your inner kid (and possibly your dentist) very, very happy. Let’s talk about the best ones—just promise me you won’t blame me for any impulse purchases.

1. Lizzie Lu Luxury Treats

Location: 4020 N MacArthur Blvd Ste 120, Irving

Website: http://lizzieluluxury-treats.com/

Phone number: +1 469 276 7131

Operating hours:

  • Sunday and Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday to Saturday: 10:30 am – 6:00 pm

Lizzie Lu Luxury Treats is a delightful gourmet shop that offers a wide range of goodies, including butter cakes, candy apples, candy bark, and unique cookies.

It all started with T’Juanna Winters, who took her grandmother’s cherished recipes and turned them into something magical.

She didn’t just want to bake, she wanted to create a space where kindness and respect were as much a part of the experience as the treats themselves.

If you go, don’t miss their best-selling Cookies and Cream Chocolate Bark. It’s made with rich, creamy chocolate and loaded with real cookie crumbs. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!

A heads up: keep in mind that their products do contain dairy and soy, so if you have any allergies, be sure to check before indulging.

2. Candy Barrel Fort Worth

Location: 140 E Exchange Ave # B201

Website: https://www.fortworthstockyards.org/shop/candy-barrel

Phone number: +1 508 474 2973

Operating hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

At Candy Barrel in the historic Stockyards district of Fort Worth, barrels of candy fill the walls, overflowing with every goodie you can imagine.

Whenever I stop by, I always order my fave—Dill Pickle Taffy. I know, I know—pickle-flavored taffy may sound weird, but it’s this sweet and tangy thing that just works. I’ve recommended it to plenty of skeptics, and not one has regretted it!

And while this selection alone is enough to make your inner child do cartwheels, there’s more! They’ve got some fun candy-themed shirts, and keep an eye out for the giant Rice Krispies Treat. I’m talking massive!

Oh, and if you’re trying to be “good” (which, let’s be real, is nearly impossible in the Stockyards with all the BBQ around), they even have sugar-free options.

Just grab a bag, scoop up whatever catches your eye, and prepare to leave with more than you intended!

3. Candy Land

Location: 3811 S Cooper St, Arlington

Phone number: +1 817 466 2229

Operating hours:

  • Friday and Saturday: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Candy Land is exactly what it sounds like—a whimsical, over-the-top candy paradise where every shelf is stacked with something sweet.

Gummy candies in every shape and color, chocolate bars that could last you a week (or a day, no judgment!), and candy canes that stick around long after Christmas have come and gone. Taffy? Of course! Jelly beans? In every flavor imaginable!

And if you’re the kind of person who likes to stock up, they’ve got bulk options that’ll make you feel like a kid in a candy store—literally.

Even if you’re watching your sugar intake, they haven’t forgotten about you too. There are plenty of treats without sugar, so no one gets left out of the fun!

Now, if you only get one thing—and I mean only one—it has to be the Candy Land Cotton Candy. It’s light, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth cotton candy, and just pure sugary goodness.

4. DULCERIA ARY Mexican Candies

For some seriously good Mexican candy, I can’t recommend Dulceria Ary enough. It’s an adorable little spot in Dallas, packed with all sorts of traditional sweets you won’t just stumble upon at your average grocery store.

They’ve got everything from the popular Taramindo to the creamy Jamoncillo, and if you’re a chocolate lover, they have Abuelita too—that stuff is like a warm hug in a cup.

And most of these treats are imported straight from Mexico, so you know you’re getting the real deal!

But honestly, the best part about Dulceria Art is the people. They’re genuinely nice and always happy to let you try a sample or two, which is a lifesaver because, with so many options, you’re going to want a taste test before committing!

If you’re planning a birthday bash or any kind of celebration. They also have party decorations! It’s super convenient to grab your candy and your supplies all in one go.

And the sodas? They take things to a whole new level. We’re talking more than 50 varieties of root beer alone, plus 400 other hard-to-find, gourmet, and nostalgic glass-bottle soft drinks.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, they’ve also got quirky little gumball machines scattered around, tempting you to drop in a quarter just to see what surprise you’ll get.

Beyond the sugar rush, the shop has a bunch of cool gifts and collectibles—all sorts of offbeat, pop culture stuff. Definitely worth a look around even if your sweet tooth isn’t screaming!

Rocket Fizz in Deep Ellum is decked out like an old-school soda shop. They’ve got over 400 flavors of bottled sodas, from classic root beer to downright bizarre—yes, bacon soda is a thing, and so is peanut butter and jelly.

As per their candies, they have all the goodies you haven’t seen since you were a kid, the kind that instantly transports you back to a time when your biggest problem was convincing your parents to buy you just one more pack.

If you go, do yourself a favor and grab some Zotz. These little hard candies start off sweet and unassuming, but the second you hit the fizzy, tangy center, it’s like a tiny fireworks show in your mouth!

And if you think it’s just soda and sweets, think again. Rocket Fizz is packed with all sorts of quirky gifts and oddball knickknacks—ideal for souvenirs or just to spice up your desk at work.

At AndiMac Candy Shack, you might just feel like a kid again—with over 1,600 kinds of candy, it’s basically sugar-fueled heaven! They offer old-school treats your grandparents used to sneak you and those latest viral TikTok sensations.

Ever tried an Abba Zaba or Zotz? Maybe you just need a classic Whatchamacallit bar? No judgment—just pure, unfiltered candy joy.

Andi, the mastermind behind this little joint, has been making candy bouquets since the ‘90s—way before these were even a thing.

What started as a fun little hobby for friends and local events turned into a full-blown dream come true when she opened the shop in 2018.

But here’s the best part: this isn’t just an American candy shop. They’ve got international goodies too!

We’re talking real Cadbury chocolate from the UK (not that weird local version), plus wild and wonderful sweets from Iceland, Finland, Sweden, and Japan.

And if you’ve got dietary restrictions, there’s a huge selection of vegan and sugar-free treats!
